Returned to Austin's long-running bar The Hole in the Wall for a gig Saturday night after 34 years! Thanks to Jon Pearson and Lynn at the venue for arranging it. Wonderful show with dear, dear friends in attendance and a pretty inspired performance if I do so say myself. I'm hoping it won't be another 34 years until I return for another set!

Turned on the rig last night and was really feeling it. A very good evening at playing. Started with a tutorial video on "She Said, She Said," which really helped ... Dsus chord worked it's way into just about everything else I worked on last night, as well! So we've got "She Said, She Said," "Rain," "Vibrating," and "Hard Day's Night" and a reinvigorated "Another Way of Loving You." Cool whammy part on that. More later. Felt really good to play. One of those magical nights where everything just felt right!
Today early voting then a quick stop at Target; really want to get some "fairy lights" for the music room... Revised the set-list; we're now up to 21 tunes... (22 if you add "Hangin' on the Telephone)... this is the ultimate Johnny Lovecaster set-list. Practice today with Holly and Scott... gonna try to get through the whole set. Good news is we can take our time today. Gonna try and make it to another open mic on Tuesday at the Bang Bang. Saturday the Lovecasters play at Isaac's Graduation Party to a captive and (hopefully) supportive audience of family and friends. Talking to Gary about doing a show with the new reboot of Mannequin at the WebHouse in late July, early August.
Great practice with Holly last night... "There She Goes," If You Come to My House", "And Your Bird Can Sing," and a killer version of "Heart of Tao"; now flowers in my hair
Hero Will Willard dropped in on Lovecasters' World Headquarters on Thursday and installed the ultimate Johnny PedalBoard (tm): 8 effects for various moods/transitionings including approximate skysaw guitars I and II and a patch called "Hickoids", which is exrta crunchy (with golden nuggets). Ready to rock out on this hot little number; it's really going to expand what I was formerly able to do to really exciting new levels of excitements! Horray!
